HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

Application forms for membership can be downloaded from this website or are available during office hours at the office the Club.

The completed application form signed by a proposer and a seconder have to be submitted to the Secretary of the Curacao Golf & Squash Club, P.O. Box 3994, Curacao or in person at the office of the Club. Signatures of a proposer and a seconder are not required for the application of a Company Membership.

A proposer and a seconder must be a member for at least one (1) year and must know personally by the applicant. A proposer and a seconder must inform the Board if they do not personally know the applicant. Board members are not allowed to act as proposer or seconder.

When the Board has decided to take an application into consideration after it has met with the applicant, usually on the third Wednesday of the month, it will inform the members of the Club of the application for membership by posting it on the announcement board.

The proposer and the seconder should make use op the opportunity to invite the applicant for the "Happy Hour" on the third Wednesday of the month to introduce him/her to the members who are present.

During a period of eight (8) days after the announcemnet on the announcement board, the members have the opportunity to object to the applicant. This objection should be submitted in writing to the Secretary of the Curacao Golf & Squash Club.

In the end, the Board decides whether or not an applicant should be admitted as a member. The applicant will receive a written confirmation if the application is honored. The applicant will also be informed in writing if the application is rejected. Membership starts on the first day of the month following the written confirmation.

N.B. It should be pointed out, that local residents who are non-members and also applicants for membership, are not authorized to use the facilities of the Club (bar, golf course, squash courts, etc.), unless they have been invited by a member; this can happen only maximum 5 times per calendar year. Local residents who are non-members and also applicants for membership are allowed though to take a maximum of 3 lesson from the golf pro of the Club without the invitation of a member.
